missmatch_lr1Visiting with me today is Wendy Toliver, whose novel, MISS MATCH is out tomorrow!  Aren’t you excited?  I know I am!

Sasha Finnegan has always had a knack for setting people up, and at sixteen, she’s turned her talent into an online business, molding high school crushes into true love. But Sasha finds her toughest match yet when hottie Derek Urban asks her to set him up with Sasha’s gorgeous sister, Maddie. It’s not that Derek isn’t a good catch. In fact, after spending so much time with him, Sasha can’t help but think he’s perfect — for her, that is.
Can Sasha push her feelings aside for the sake of her business? Or has this miss finally found her match?

More Info about MISS MATCH:

Miss Match is Wendy Toliver’s second Simon Pulse Romantic Comedy. It was a 2007 finalist in the Romance Writers’ of America© Golden Heart® contest in the Young Adult category (under the title Cupid Girl).

“What I like best about this book is that it’s about a smart, funny, down-to-earth sixteen year-old who isn’t super skinny and drop-dead gorgeous. It takes place in Salt Lake City, close to where I live, so I was able to weave some fun local aspects into it.” –Wendy Toliver

Wendy Toliver lives in the Utah mountains with her three little boys, her husband, and other various wildlife. She graduated from Colorado State University with a BA in Speech Communication/Broadcast and has had a variety of jobs, from performing singing telegrams to working at an advertising agency.
Now a soccer (etc.) mom and the author of The Secret Life of a Teenage Siren and Miss Match (both Simon Pulse), she couldn’t be happier. Well, if she had a self-cleaning house, a Porsche, and an endless supply of chocolate-covered cinnamon bears, she just might be a tad happier. Visit her online at http://www.wendytoliver.com.

So without further ado, here’s Wendy!

1.  What (or who) do you consider to be glamorous and why?

I have a thing for long, thick, curly lashes. Haven’t gone with extensions like a lot of my friends, but just love the look and I love wearing fake lashes for costume parties.

2.  If you weren’t a writer, what other career would you like to attempt?

3.  What is the one article of clothing in your closet that you can’t bear to part with?

I have two pair of Express X2 jeans in a dark wash. They’re extra long and they’re not only comfy; they get me lots of attention from my hubby.

4.  Who is your fav celebrity?

Just one? I don’t know her personally, but Natalie Portman seems really sweet and down-to-earth. Someone I could be friends with. She’s not only a talented actress, she’s reportedly very intelligent and I love how she has such a charitable heart.

5.  If you could put together a “dream cast” of the big screen version of your book, who would play the leads?

Miranda Cosgrove (iCarly) for Sasha (after gaining a little weight b/c Miranda is so thin), Francia Raisa (The Secret Life of an American Teenager) for Yasmin, Anna Sophia Robb (Bridge to Terabithia) for Maddie, Matt Prokop (High School Musical 3) for Derek, and Frankie Muniz (Agent Cody Banks) for Kevin.

6.  Britney:  Comeback or train wreck?

7. What is your fav glam or exotic location to visit? (Mine’s Paris!)

Costa Rica (though I lived Paris as well)

8.  Which character in your work do you most relate to and why?

Sasha, the main character. I’ve always loved fixing people up, and like her, I never had dates to dances.
